Welcome to Our Parish
Co-Cathedral Renovation Update: Fundraising
To keep the Parish faithful apprised on the efforts of the Co-Cathedral renovation project, it is our intention to add short narratives on a periodic basis in both the bulletin and on the website. As of January 1st, 2023, we have accumulated $1,592,011 towards the goal to ensure our facility meets the spiritual needs of the Catholic faithful for the next 50 plus years.
Of this money, approximately $600K was received during the focused “Cathedral Pledge Drive” from 2019 to 2022. Included in this amount was $50K contributed by Norwegian Cruise Lines and a similar amount by a Seattle visitor to the Cathedral while on a cruise ship. The Parish Finance Committee keeps approximately 1/3 of these funds in conservative mutual funds.
At the last Parish Town Hall meeting (January 19th , 2022), it was reported that our goal for the project was $2.8M. With construction material costs very volatile due to supply chain challenges and the 2022 Consumer Price Index (CPI) adjust-ment at 8.1%, our architectural firm (MRV Architects) is up-dating the estimated project cost. We should have that revised number within the coming weeks.
We appreciate all the Co-Cathedral faithful who continue to provide resources—both monetarily and spiritually.

At long last—we now have a Plaque Locator Map attached to the back wall of the nave!To find a particular plaque in the nave, follow the directions at the bottom of the locator map.
We extend a BIG thank you to everyone who took part in this protect that was designed to preserve our long heritage and to demonstrate to future members our dedication toward making this parish the vibrant, welcoming community that it is!
It is our hope that the plaques will serve as re-minders to you, our current—and future—gene-rations, of the commitment made by those who came before you to build the Kingdom of God here in Juneau at the Co-Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. May she forever remain our heavenly queen.
